Jay Gordon

Jay Gordon is a researcher focused the development of new analytic algorithms and applications for transit planning and operations using big data. As a graduate student in the Transit Lab he developed automated methods for processing complete daily sets of London’s farecard and vehicle-location data to reveal patterns of travel behavior, and is now building upon this work with the MBTA in Boston. Prior to MIT, Jay worked as a software developer and as a planner/analyst with the SFMTA and SFCTA in San Francisco. He holds a Master of Science in Transportation and Master of City Planning from MIT, and a BA in Geography and City Planning from UC Berkeley.
